Horseshoe Lake Hunt Special Needs Hunt
The hunt took place the first weekend of November at the Horseshoe Lake Conservation Area and was run by Site Manager Joey Thurston. Special Thanks to the United Special Sportsman Alliance (USSA). This organization provides cost free outdoor dreams for ciritically ill and disabled American Youth. The link to their website is http://www.childswish.com.
During the hunt, the kids are accompanied by a parent or guardian, as well as a guide. The guides are local residents who donate their time to help out. Pictured above left to right are Cole Ruppe age 10 from Suffolk, Va, Donald Young Jacob Deer Rut Committee member, Wesley Johnson age 22 from Spencer, WI, Jayden Mayfield age 8 from Owensboro, KY, Chase Kupferschmid age 19 from Fairberry, IL, Brian VanPelt Jacob Deer Rut Committee member, Dawson DeCapp age 7 1/2 from Geneseo, IL. Jacob Deer Rut, along with Jon Adams from NATGEAR, provided each young man with a fleece jacket and a cap.
